India Railways are the major source for traveling in India . It is a India Enterprises which is operated by the central government of India by the ministry of railways . It is one of the worlds largest railway Network with 115,000 km of tracks and it has more than 8,000 Stations all over the country . There is an estimation that Indian railways will carry more than 22 million of passengers every day to there destinations and about 2.9 millions of tons of goods every day . One of the major source of income to the indian government is Indianrailways . and at the same time the Indian government will declare a very huge budget ( A state budget) just for the railways every years . The railway budget of per annum is equals to a major state budget of Annum .
The Indian railways started in the year 1853 and till now every year it is going on spreading its networks all over the country . Initially The first rail was between Bombay to Thane and later it has spreed its network every years. and This day most of the people are preferred to travel by rail because it less expensive then other transport systems . we can define it as a cheap transport system .
We can proudly say that Indian railways provides a very wide range of employments and it is the worlds 4th largest employer hired more than 1.5 million employees till now .
